The AIB Sustainability SIG held a Career Development Workshop as part of the pre-conference events of the AIB UKI 2023 conference. The event started with a keynote speech and Q&A by Professor Rob van Tulder, who was also a keynote speaker of the conference. We would like to thank him for the wonderful talk, fruitful discussion, and contribution to the SIG as an advisory board member.
The “Academic Careers in Sustainability” workshop gathered more than 30 PhD students, early and mid-term career researchers. The SIG’s co-chair Shasha Zhao, and committee officers Martin Heiberg and Maria Ilieva discussed with the attendees diverse topics about how to find a job in the area of sustainability, do you define yourself as a sustainability scholar, how to establish yourself in this field of study, and many others. The workshop was very well received and started various discussions during the next days of the conference. Many of the PhD students found it inspiring and insightful.
We are looking forward to meeting again at future career workshops too.
