The video recording of the Sustainability SIG / Emerging Markets SIG Joint Webinar: Sustainability in Emerging Markets is now available at the AIB website.

The joint webinar was organized and moderated by Maria Alejandra Gonzalez-Perez, Emerging Markets SIG’s Engagement and Communications (Universidad EAFIT) and Shasha Zhao, Sustainability SIG’s Co-chair (Surrey University).

We would like to express our gratitude to the presenters: Maoliang Bu (Nanjing University), Helena Barnard (University of Pretoria),
Indianna D. Minto-Coy (University of the West Indies), and Rob Van Tulder (RSM Erasmus University Rotterdam) for sharing their expertise and insights.

They discussed about the intellectual challenge, realignment challenge, approaches of defining emerging markets, principles of sustainable business, pros and cons of sustainability for international business, regional perspective, criteria to view the social impact of sustainability in emerging markets, local business environment, climate financing, small size as an advantage, role of international MNEs as change drivers in emerging and developing markets, environmental degradation, media focus on sustainability issues, limited resources, global warming.

We are looking forward to more joint events and webinars between AIB Sustainability SIG and the AIB Emerging Markets SIG in the future!
